Katy, I am right there with you. Was in AL for easter and I think I ate my weight in both Easter ham and chocolate eggs. Two good things though, I only allowed myself that behavior for Easter. And after all the candy I didn't feel great, so yay... Less motivation to candy-gorge in the future. The not-so-good things are that I didn't get 4 days of exercise in - only 3. And that I ate so much ... Portions people portions!! I do want to get to the point -and maybe this will never happen - to where I can have like one bite of something sweet and be done, yum, great... Moving on. Again, that may never happen. Seriously, on a sugar fast though. For reals.
Goals for this week: 4 x exercise and 1 soda a day (dcdp) the trainer mentioned something interesting about soda that I hadn't thought of. Aside from the chemicals, the carbonation stretches the stomach so there is more of a feeling of hunger and a need to fill the stomach. Didn't need a better reason than that to cut back.
Hope you guys have a good (peep-free) week!

Week 3 Goals--Liz
Nic, you are so right--this Easter candy is very hard to resist (dark chocolate Peepsters kept in the fridge...yum). I did Latin Fusion on Tuesday, walked for 40 minutes today (not sure if I can really call that a "workout" but it IS exercising) and will do my 60-minute Triple Cardio class in the morning. Still trying to make myself bump up the workouts to 4 times a week instead of just 3.
Didn't do so well with the healthy eating this past weekend as we were in Knoxville/Gatlinburg and ate at Pancake Pantry, Big Ed's, Gus', and Five Guys. It was good, though! Continuing to drink mainly water for all meals and throughout the day. Got my hair cut yesterday so maybe that's a few pounds off the scale :)

Week 3 goals - n2
I am going to continue to use this even if I just copy paste into an email to all girls :-)
Thanks for representin' Liz
Completed goals for last week but just barely. Need work to calm down so that I can get back to classes. That's where it is at for me. I am so not motivated when it is just me. So I got 4 in this week. 4x to exercise that is. Still no sugar. But drinking diet soda like it's going out of style to have something sweet. I may not be able to resist Easter though. Man I just love that stuff so much. Cary is also cutting back sugar so maybe this year it will be easier.
This week I will keep with 4 times just because of the holiday. Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. I will trrrrrrrrrrry to be motivated to do 2 of those in the mornings. That seriously needs to start happening. Morning workouts. Ok that's my future goals. Getting up a little earlier each time.
Yay!
Happy Easter week.

Week 2 Goals for Liz
Well, I didn't GAIN any weight last week so that's good, right? I exercised three times, not four like I had planned. This week I will try to get in at least 3 workouts if not 4 (just came back from Latin Fusion so there's one). I'm also trying to get the mindless snacking under control and banish all Peepsters (by "banish" I mean eating all of them so they won't continue to stare at me from the bag. Just kidding. Sort of.) Will continue drinking mainly water for meals and throughout the day. I REALLY miss sweet tea but have managed to majorly cut back on it. Going to the beach May 21-28 so really, really trying to lose some inches before then. Realize I am going to have to step it up as that trip approaches. We are going with our friends the Fishers. Kristen is pregnant so this could help me or hurt me. Help me in the sense that surely, by comparison to a 5-months pregnant lady I will look smaller, or hurt me because people may think "oh look--two pregnant ladies on the beach." I'm hoping for the former.

Week 2 - goals for Nic
I was successful at working out 5 times this week. YAY! The trainer did not actually kill me. Double yay!
The goal for this week is 4 times to work out (a busy week coming up) but also to get extra water in. I feel better when I hydrate and am not as hungry. When I am not hot (the weather is still so cold) I don't remember to drink water. I am going to drink my 64 oz. a day to try and get back into the habit.
Also, started sprinkling cinnamon on my apple in the morning. Tastes like a treat!

Good Morning~ Thanks for setting everything up for us on the blog, Nic! A HUGE Sister Sunshine to AMY for successfully completing her first half-marathon yesterday!!! I did exercise three times last week, which was my goal, but I'm going to try very hard to bump it up to 4 times this week. I really don't have much of an excuse, seeing as how part of my gym membership includes childcare, but I prefer to work out in the mornings and that's not always possible. My main goal is still to LOSE INCHES around my MIDDLE! My goals this week are to continue drinking water throughout the day and with all meals, cut back on sugar, and focus on the healthier fats (avocados, nuts, olives, olive oil, dark chocolate). I have a harder time planning meals since I'm not the cook in the family, but I have been trying to have smaller portions and I've been ordering salads when we go out (except for last night, when I had two pieces of white pizza from Mellow Mushroom!) Hope everyone has a HEALTHY week!

Goal for WO 4/3 - nic
Excited (and) nervous about this week. signed up with a trainer in what amounts to paying someone to kick my ass. Not saying I don't need it but I am not the most willing participant in "training" or "ass-kicking". So, we'll see. The main motivation came from hiking the Inca trail - man, it was intense and I got off the trail and said that I would get in better shape. which is why this Challenge® is such perfect timing.
Goal is 5X this week.
Katy, i WISH I was in Nashville as tennis is actually one of the few exercising that I enjoy but I have no one to play with up here. I was thinking about joining a league when it FINALLY gets warmer though.
PS - favorite thing is sugar free Jello cups (and sugar-free pudding cups) they are great for after dinner - when the dessert craving hits hard core.

Laying the ground rules
As with any challenge, there needs to be some rules. Not anything too severe, but always good to have a starting place.
My suggestion would be to at least say that we'll post goals for the week and results of those goals. So, whether that is posting on Sunday both results and new goals is up to you. And again, post additionally as desired, but getting the the goals up is key.
